“I have always received very good service and honesty from all your people and don’t feel I’m pushed into service I don’t need-definitely a plus as a woman.”
Changing Engine Coolant is more important then ever
1. There are many types and colors of Coolant in use today.
A. GM is Orange
B. Toyota is Red
C. Chrysler is Green
D. VW is Blue
E. Ford is Gold
2. Why so many different coolants? To make engines lighter, smaller, and stronger, engineers are using different metals in the same engine. This causes a reaction between the metals. The engineers recommend special coolant to control this corrosive reaction. The manufacutres also have other special additives that control corrosion build up, lubricate the water pump, etc..Tire World Technicians are trained on a regular basis to keep up with these changes.
3. Tire World Technicians will check the specific gravity of your coolant with each oil change. This will tell us the concentration, freeze point, and boiling point of the coolant in your vehicle.
4. Tire World recommends that you flush your coolant system every two years or 30,000 miles, because the chemicals in the coolant loose their ability to work over time. As part of the flush process we put a cleaner in the radiator and run the engine. We then remove the coolant in the reverse direction to remove scale and build up. We install fresh coolant and an addivtive that enhances the coolant.
