Warning Light On?

Warning light on your dash? Don't panic! The lights have different meanings and should prompt different actions, depending on what light is on and what other symptoms may be present.

List of warning lights you might see

	If this light is on it indicates an occupant in the vehicle does not have their seatbelt fastened. If the light stays on and all occupants have their belts fastened, there is a malfunction.
	This warning will come on when the key is turned on, and flash for a couple of seconds. Then it should turn off. If the light stays on the air bag or seat belt system is malfunctioning and may not work if you get into an accident.
	This is a red light if it stays on after you start the engine first check to make sure the parking brake is released. If the light is still on this means there is a series brake system malfunction. The vehicle needs immediate repairs.
	If this light is on in most cases you will have normal braking like a vehicle that is not equipped with ABS braking. This light can also mean your brake fluid is getting low or there is a brake light is out. If the red BRAKE light is on at the same time as the ABS light the problem needs immediate attention.
	These three lights mean the same thing. Your vehicle will have one of these lights. This light means there is a malfunction in the engines computer control systems. On 1996 and newer vehicles if the light is flashing this means; the tail pipe emissions are exceeding federal standards and may damage other components like the catalytic converter. 	A light similar to this can mean two things. If it is green it indicates that the daytime running lights are on. If it is blue or red the high beam head lights are on.
